Lafayette County - West Wiota Lutheran Church

This cemetery is located on a beautiful ridgetop in Lafayette County. The inscription on the plaque reads:

The West Wiota Lutheran Church was struck by lightning during an early morning blizzard on December 15, 1987. Severe weather conditions hampered all efforts to save our church. It was consumed by fire in minutes. This scarred bell is the only thing that was salvaged. Memories of our beloved church will live on in our hearts forever.
